Symbol Library

You can organize the symbol library to suit your needs – reorganize the groups, delete symbols you don't use and keep only what you really need.

Sample Drawings

Have a look at the sample drawings in the Documents panel. You will see everything ProfiCAD can do and get inspiration for your own work.

Keyboard Shortcuts – Your Biggest Speed-Up

What if drawing took 10× less time? Or 100×? It's possible – just learn the keyboard shortcuts. Seriously, this is the one thing that turns ProfiCAD into a rocket.

Hardware Requirements

ProfiCAD has no special hardware requirements. The program is designed to be very lightweight and to run smoothly even on ordinary (including older) computers.

In general:

  • Runs on 64-bit Windows 10 and 11
  • An ordinary office computer or laptop is enough
  • No powerful graphics card or special hardware is required
  • Make sure you have enough disk space.
  • Monitors with a very high resolution may display text too small – see DPI settings.

Software Requirements

  • 64-bit Windows 10 or later.
  • Install all available Windows updates.
  • Make sure all hardware drivers are up to date, especially graphics card drivers.
  • ⚠️ We do not recommend antivirus programs other than Windows Defender – they can cause problems with the program.

How to Switch the Program to English

The user interface is not in English?

  1. Press F12 to open the program options.
  2. Go to the Others tab (the name is shown in the current language).
  3. In the list of languages, select "english".

Symbols and sample drawings are not in English?

  1. Uninstall the program.
  2. Check that these folders were deleted:
    C:\Users\Public\Documents\ProfiCAD Samples and
    C:\Users\Public\Documents\ProfiCAD Library.
  3. Download the English version from:
    www.proficad.com/download.aspx

Installing a Multi-License on Several Computers

Do you have a multi-license? Install and activate ProfiCAD on one computer, then copy these folders to the others:

C:\Program Files\ProfiCAD
C:\Users\Public\Documents\ProfiCAD Library\
C:\Users\Public\Documents\ProfiCAD Samples\

With ProfiCAD 13 and older, the program is in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\ProfiCAD.

Done – the program is ready to use on all computers.

💡 Pro tip: Start with the sample drawings, learn a few keyboard shortcuts and only then start your own drawings. You will save yourself a lot of trial and error.
